How do I buy golf clubs for my father?

My father loves to golf, but he's had the same golf clubs for forever and they're getting really old. I want to surprise him with a nice expensive set of new golf clubs for fathers day, but I want them to be right for him.
Would I need
One of the best gifts I ever received was a gift certificate from a golf shop... Give him a 400.00 gift certificate from Golfsmith. Let him pick his own clubs because he will be happier.

You won't be able to buy the clubs that are 'right' for him without him knowing. You could fix up something that looks like a present and have a picture inside with clubs or tell him you are taking him on a surprise visit somewhere. Try to get him to
