How do I dispose of my stainless steel water bottle?

I use stainless steel water bottles instead of plastic bottles and am replacing the stainless steel bottle I am currently using. Where or how can I dispose of this bottle in a way that is environmentally safe?
Donate it too goodwill so someone one else can use it?
